We had a very busy Easter weekend. On Saturday we went to the Midland Cocker Championship Show where Dolce showed her little socks off again and won 1st in Graduate Bitch under Breed Judge Moira Forfar (Glasedin).

On Sunday I judged cockers at the Wigan & District Canine Society's Open Show. The entry was low but the dogs I did judge were all of very good quality. Many thanks for entering your dogs. Best Puppy was a sweet young blue bitch Royaldene Paparazzi and Best of Breed was a sturdy black dog, Notrella Jacobs Ladder SHCM.

On Easter Monday we were up at Newark at the Eastwood Kennel Association Open Show. Dolly was placed first in the junior class and then declared Best of Breed under breed judge Louise Wilding (Jayzander/Lochranza).

Many thanks to Cristobal Agradano & Juan Lopez for the lovely photo taken of Dolly after she had won her first prize at Crufts. Here is a link to cockeringles where you can see all of the fantastic photos taken of the cocker spaniels placed at Crufts. http://www.cockeringles.org/exposiciones/2010/Crufts10.htm

Wow what a day we had a Crufts!!! Dolly was awarded 1st in Under Graduate Bitch out of a class of 23 bitches and went on to make it down to the final cut for the Bitch CC under well respected judge Mr Frank Kane.

We are so proud of Dolly and thank everyone for their support, the cheer that went up was overwhelming, thank you so much for all of the messages and cards it really was a day we won't forget in a hurry!

A huge thank you to Sue & Annie Kettle (Dolly's breeders) and all at the Lochranza kennel who own Dolly's sire SH CH Lochranza For Your Eyes Only, for their support. We were thrilled that Sue and Annie's beautiful black bitch Molly - SH CH Lujesa Touch the Sky JW won Best of Breed and then made it through to the short list for the gundog group - Well done girls!

Today I was judging cocker spaniels at the North Lincs Dog Club which was held at the Newark Show Ground. I had a lovely entry of 21 with some quality cocker spaniels to assess. In some classes I was really splitting hairs and could have handed out plenty of red rosettes. Best Puppy was Wensum Augustus a lovely dog puppy that was full of cocker exuberance and character. Best of Breed was Canyon Classic Welcome a beautiful, well muscled black male (see photo below). I was thrilled to hear that he went on to win Group 1 and Reserve Best in Show. Thank you to all the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to assess your dogs they were a joy to judge.

It was the first time we have qualifed a dog for the challenge we had a really good day, a lovely sit down meal with friends and then the match. Dolly went out in the first round but came home with a lovely rosette and bag of dog food.
